Gorgeous, big hotel with knowledgeable staff and delicious breakfasts. Variety of goodies for breakfast. Marvellous and magnificent location overlooking mountain and adjacent to Bennington restaurants, shops and downtown, walking distance to restaurants, pubs and bookstores and shops. The hotel's breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of items to choose from. The rooms were extremely spacious and beautiful, and they even included amenities like a shower, hair dryers, and bath robes. The location was marvelous, being conveniently close to Main Street shops, restaurants, and bookstores in Bennington.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at South Shire in Bennington. The hotel is gorgeous, and its location is absolutely perfect, right on Main Street close to the shops. The room was reasonably large, perfectly clean, and had great amenities like central heating, multi-channel TV, and coffee/tea making facilities. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. The location is excellent, within walking distance to restaurants and shops.
